Nobody in consumer legal services comes close to LegalZoom on name recognition, and recognition is not nothing. If you have never bought anything of this kind before, a familiar name lowers the temperature of the decision. They have been operating at scale for a long time, they publish their price where you can see it without a phone call, and they are not hiding a promotional rate that snaps upward in month thirteen. The $249 you see is the $249 you pay, this year and next.

We would rather compete against that than against a teaser.

Set It Against What Rhode Island Charges

The February Envelope Does Not Read Your Invoice

Rhode Island has an unusual habit for a state registry: before February 1 it mails a courtesy reminder about the coming annual report, and it mails that reminder to the agent on record. Not to the owner. Not to the address you supplied when you organized. To the agent.

This is the reason to think about agent service as a mail-handling job rather than a badge. The state has put your one scheduled prompt of the year into an envelope and addressed it to a company you hired. What matters after that is entirely operational. Does somebody open it the day it arrives? Does it reach you in a form you will actually see, or does it sit in a queue?
